Abstract:
In this paper, we report damage and regeneration of bone marrow hemopoietic tissue following 80Co ?-ray radiation at various doses in dogs and compare its damaged character after large dose radiation at two dose rates.The results show that the regeneration rate of marrow tissue was 31.6%(6/19)after less than 5Gy radiation, and the marrow was completely aplastic after more than 7Gy radiation. Although injury of marrow parenchyma is analogous after large dose radiation at two dose rates, marrow hemorrhage at low rate is less serious than that at high rate.
