Abstract:
The present paper is an analysis of the pattern reversal visual evoked potentials (P-VEP) of macular disease (40 cases, 57 eyes), in contrast to normal persons (40 cases, 80 eyes) of similar age. The group consists of 9 different kinds of disease-central serous chorioretinopathy macular hemorrhage, macular dege-neration, etc. The authors analyzed the latency and amplitude of P-VEP in different macular disease with different course and central vision. The results showed that the latency of P-VEP in the group was relatively prolonged. In contrast to normal person P 100 was prolonged by 9.0, 26, 40 ms at 1?2′, 30′, 16′ visual angles respectively. The amplitude was obviously lowered, especially at the visual angle of 16′ and P-VEP extinguished in all the eases with visual acuity less than 0.1.The latency and the amp-litude were not related to the type and the course of the maeular disease, but were closely related to the central vision.
