Abstract:
The distribution and changes of thyroid peroxidase (TPO) in 30 cases of Hashimoto's thyroiditis were studied with immunohistochemical method, TPO-positive product was demonstrated in small follicules and trabecular colls, The positive rate and relative amount of TPO in Hashimoto's thyroiditis were significantly decreased than those of hyperthyroidal and normal tissues. The remarkable reduction of TPO which mainly resulted from the destruction of follicular cells was associated with the obstruction of iodination.
