Abstract:
Invasive or deep candidiasis is a common and severe complication of certain primary illness in immune compromised patients.Recently,it was reported that S-LMIT could be used for this purpose,in as much as healthy adults being mostly positive,while cases of inative candidiasis negative.However,we observed that patients recerving immunosup- pressive therapy because of various diseases other than candidiasis usualy gave negative S-LMIT as well(19/21 cases).Since,invasive candidiasis occur most often in immuno- compromised patients.We feel,value of negative S-LMIT as a specific diagnotic means for this disease require futher study.
