Abstract:
After carbon bisulfide, benzol, lead acetate saturation fluid, mercurric bichloride saturation fluid and alcohol were injected respectively in the infraorbital nerve on one side in 29 adult rats, the pathological changes in trigeminal ganglion were studied microscopically and electromicroscopically. The results showed these neurotoxins had a retrograde effect on the cell body through the peripheral process of ganglion cell, inducing different pathological changes in cell body. In addition, we studied the slices using the method mentioned above, after physiological saline solution was injected in the infraorbital nerve or it was cut. It was proved that the pathological changes of ganglion cell in the first experiment were not induced by the change of tension or mechanical damage. They were the result of poisoning as compared with the result of the second experiment.
