Abstract:
The myocardial infarct size (MIS) and left ventricular myocardial contractility indices (LVMCI) were measured on the third day after ligationof the root of left coronary artery in rats. The morphological and thefunctional characteristics of the experimental myocardial infarction in ratswere described. The necrosis could not be seen in the ventricular septa andthe most capillary muscles. The MIS measured from the tissure slice got fromthe level between the upper 2/5 and lower 3/5 of the left ventricle couldmostly represent the MIS of the whole left ventricle. The LVMCI on thethird day after ligation of coronary artery was reduced markedly.
