Abstract:
OBJECTIVE:To explore the approach to improve the target-meeting rate in patients with type 2 diabetes.METHODS:A total of 116 patients with type 2 diabetes were randomly assigned to either trial group (with intervention of clinical pharmacists;n=60,19 males and 41 females) or control group(with routine therapy;n=56,20 males and 46 females). The levels of fasting plasma glucose (FPG),HbA1c,BP,HDL-C,TG,LDL-C and the SF-36 scores for quality of life in both groups were recorded at 0 and 3 months, respectively. The target-meeting rates after treatment were computed in accordance with China Diabetes Control Guideline in which the target value of HbA1c control was no more than 7%.RESULTS:After three months, the target-meeting rates of FPG,HbA1c,BP,HDL-C,TG,LDL-C and the SF-36 scores in the trial group were significantly better than in the control group.CONCLUSION:Intervention of clinical pharmacists is a effective approach to improve the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes.
