Abstract:
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the economic effects of different therapeutic schemes for knee osteoarthritis.METHODS: The clinical data of 116 patients with knee osteoarthritis were divided into three groups, namely,Group A(taking Celebrex 200 mg q.d for 28 days);Group B(Celebrex 200 mg daily orally plus topically application of Diclofenac diethylammonium);and Group C(Celebrex 200 mg daily orally plus topically application of 4 boxes of Capsacin ointment). The improvement of knee osteoarthritis was evaluated by Lysholm rating system. And a cost-effectiveness analysis was conducted.RESULTS: The costs of Group A,B,and C were 206.97 yuan,252.77 yuan and 298.53 yuan respectively;the effective rates were 61.54%,71.05% and 84.62%,respectively;the cost-effectiveness ratios were 336.32,355.76 and 352.79,respectively.The incremental cost-effectiveness ratios of Group B and C as against Group A were 481.60 and 396.71,respectively.CONCLUSION: In Group C compared Group A,the effective rate was significantly higher;and as compared with Group B,the cost for gaining each unit of effectiveness in Group C was significantly lower.Group C is the optimal one among the three schemes.
