Abstract:
Objective To explore the relationship between the levels of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with vascular complication. Methods The plasma concentrations of PAI-1 were determined by ELISA in 34 control subjects (Control group) and 134 diabetic patients (T2DM group),which were further subdivided into 4 subgroups based on body mass index (BMI) and with or without macro-vascular complication. Results The PAI-1 levels in four diabetic subgroups were significantly increased compared with those of the control.
