Abstract:
Objective To investigate the relationship between perioperative allogeneic blood transfusion and postoperative infection. Methods The records of 213 consecutive patients undergoing elective radical resection of colorectal cancer at the first Affiliated Hospital of Zhongshan University from January 1st, 2001 to December 31st, 2001 were reviewed. The association of allogeneic blood transfusion with postoperative infection was analyzed by logistic regression. Correction for multiple analysis were made to eliminate the effects of confounding factors.
