Abstract:
E. coli endotoxin was injected into 15 white male rabbits iv. and fever ensued one month and three months later after both testicles of these rabbits were excised. Then the comparison of the fever peak was made between the electric acupuncture experimental group and the control group one month later, which showed a markable statistical significance. Three months later, the comparison of the temperature response index was made between these two groups, which also showed a great statistical significance. The estradiol in the blood plasma showed a considerable increase after one month compar. ing with the preoperation, while the testosterone in the blood plasma showed a great decrease after three months. Thus, it is shown that the effect of electric acupuncture inhibition of the temperature Increase was related to sex hormone levels in the blood plasma.
