Abstract:
It is reported that anisodamine exhibited cell protection action during anoxia and ischemia, the mechanism of which is still obscure. Present study found that: (1) 654-2 significantly reduced the reperfusion mucosal damage of ischemic intestines and the accumulation of intracellular calcium; (2) anisodamine could blunt the contraction of the high potasium depolarized guinea pig ileum with calcium; (3) intermittent injections of 5mg/kg 654-2 significantly inhibited the cardiac function. The above results suggest that 654-2 possesses calcium-antagonist action, which may be one of the chief mechanism of its cell protection action.
