To assess the awareness and the pratice of HIV/AIDS control among women at Trung Minh Commune, Ky Son District, Hoa Binh Province

Abstract:
A horizontal investigation was conducted on women of Muong minority in Hoa Binh Province at the age 15-49 years old. This 43% do not know the ways of protection from HIV, 59% know the method of prevention of tranmission of HIV through the sexual route, 29,5% through blood route and 45% through drug from mother to child, 13,5% do not know that specific medicament against AIDS is now available. Women who know 3 signs of HIV/AIDS infection – loss of body weight are at the rate of 50,5%, - prolongation of diarrhoe 20, - persistent fever 14%. For their awareness 76% of information is received from the Association of Women, 68,5% from radio and 72% from community’s activities
