Analysis of health promotion cognition among medical workers in public hospitals in Shanghai

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the overall awareness and satisfaction evaluation of health promotion among medical workers in Shanghai′s public hospitals.Methods 2 346 doctors and nurses were included by multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling,for questionnaire investigation.Results 1 095 respondents(46.68%)had heard of the concept of health promotion hospital,and 1 676 respondents (71.44%)saw it as necessary to carry out health promotion.However,the organization,supporting and system building level received the lowest comment,while the level of content and form of promotion for patients received the highest.In terms of training,most of the medical workers participated in training in and out of their hospital,and 75.62% of them saw the overall hospital environment as satisfying.The satisfaction rate of health promotion status was 45.48%(1 067 medical workers).Conclusions Medical workers in Shanghai′s public hospitals share a positive view of the overall health promotion status.To tackle the problems found in each dimension,targeted measures should be taken at various levels for the health promotion at such hospitals.
