Antibiotic resistance of bacteria cause lower respiratory tract infection at Hai Phong Viet Tiep Hospital

Abstract:
Ninety four samples from patients with lower respiratory tract infection examined or treated at Viet Tiep Hospital were cultured and isolated for bacterial pathogens. The results revealed that 84 of these samples was positive (89%). In which P.aeruginosa 41%, Enterobacteriacae 19%, Streptococcus 18%, Acinetobacter 10%, M.catarrhalis 7%, S.aureus 5%. These bacterial strains were tested with antibiotics, they had the same sensitivity degree as the other recent reports. However, 2 bacteria were isolated from patients of Intensive Care Unit include P.aeruginosa (12 strains) and Acinetobacter (6 strains) had the same sensitivity degree and all were multiresistant
