Preliminary results in treatment of endoscopy benign prostatic hyperplasia at Giao Thong Van Tai I hospital, Ha Noi (5/2002 - 9/2003)

Abstract:
82 benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) patients (between 50 and 90 years old) have undergone endoscopic surgeries with Stolz machine. Results: after 18 months, there was no death, problems of electrical knife during operation: 1.25%, post-operation complications: bleeding: 0, infection: 2 cases, and gastric hemorrhage 1 case. Late complications: dysuria 9 cases, no one developing urethral stenosis. Endoscopic surgery is superior to traditional procedures, and it needs broader application.
