Abstract:
Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a group of clonal diseases originating from hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells with high risk of transformation to acute myeloid leukemia (AML).Due to the lack of effective treatment after transformation into AML and the poor prognosis, now the bone marrow transplantation is the only way to cure this disease, but only a few of patients are suitable for transplantation. So the study on the mechanism of transformation of MDS to AML is important for development of effective drugs are. This paper presents a review of the latest update on mechanism of transformation of MDS to AML.
