Serum LDH activity variation in HIV/AIDS patients infected by candida albicans and penicillium marneffei

Abstract:
At Bach Mai Hospital from January 2001 to October 2003, the study was carried out on 97 HIV(+) patients aged >15 years, including 65 patients injected by candida albicans and 32 patients by penicillium marneffei, aged mainly <30 years, male was higher than female gender with statistical significance (p<0.01). The culture of throat lession samples showed a very high rate of (+) results in candida albicans detection (96.9%). The results were analogous in the skin and blood sample culture. There was an enhance of LDH activity and there was a negative relation TCD4 cell count in peripheral blood of HIV/AIDS patients infected by candida albicans and penicillium marneffei fungi.
