Abstract:
From January 1999 to December 2003, 60 adult patients with intussusception were treated at Cho Ray Hospital, Hochiminh City. The results showed that: among them, evident etiology was recognized in 86.7% cases, including 63.5% intestinal tumors. Of cases of small intestine tumors, there were 12 benign cases (85.7%), and percentage of colonic tumors were malignant 76.9%. The treatment depends on etiology and site of intussusception. 3 surgical procedures were disinvagination, intestinal resection and right/left hemicolectomy. Surgical successful rate was 93.3%.
