Abstract:
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a common cerebrovascular disease. Its morbidity and mortality are higher.Cerebral vasospasm (CVS) and early brain injury (EBI) are the major pathophysiological mechanisms of neurological deficits and death after SAH.Both CVS and EBI are associated with a variety of factors, including nitric oxide, endothelin, thrombin and its receptor, hemoglobin and proinflammatory cytokines.Animal experiments have shown that thrombin is an important causative factor. This article reviews the role of thrombin in SAH.
