Abstract:
Purpose To evaluate the value of systemic ultrasonography in screening fetal congenital heart malformation. Materials and Methods A total of 5224 pregnant women underwent systemic ultrasonography to check fetal organs such as head, face, spine, heart, abdomen and limbs. Color Doppler and frequency spectrum Doppler images of four-chamber view, left ventricle outflow tract view and right ventricle outflow tract view were obtained and analyzed by using four-chamber view with probe tilting craniad slightly technique. Results Eleven cases showed congenital cardiac malformations (three cases of right atrial dilatation+tricuspid regurgitation, two cases of ventricular septal defect, one case of left heart dysplasias+aortic stenosis, one case of left heart dysplasias+mitral stenosis+aortic atresia, one case of aortic stenosis, one case of Ebstein's anomaly, one case of transposition of conducting arteries, one case of tetralogy of Fallot) and 1 case misdiagnosed. Conclusion Systemic fetal ultrasonography is simple and convenient with relatively high accuracy, which can be recommended in screening for fetal heart malformation.
