Abstract:
Objective To compare the clinical effects of glass ionomer cement and enamel binder therapy on malocclusion deformity. Methods 68 orthodontic patients were divided into observation group and the control group,34 cases in each group. The observation group was given glass ionomer cement bonding, the control group was given enamel adhesive bonding. All patients in the two groups received multiloop edgewise arch appliance orthodontic treatment. The clinical outcomes were compared between two groups. Results After treatment follow-up,the incidencerate of brackets off, demineralization and caries in observation group was significantly lower than the control group(x2 =3.486,2.938,3.486,all P <0.05).The satisfaction of patients in the observation group after treatment was significantly higher than control group (x2 =2.047,P < 0.05).The incidence rate of complications and adverse reactions during treatment showed no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05).Conclusion Glass ionomer cement has good bonding effect in orthodontic treatment, and can minimize the brackets off, demineralization, and easy to operate, safe and reliable, which worthy of clinical applications.
