Protective effects of ulinastatin on pulmonary injury in patients with lung operation

Abstract: Objective To explore protective effects of ulinastatin on lung injury and inflammation in patients received pulmonary surgeries.Methods 36 patients received pulmonary surgeries were randomly divided into control group and experimental group,and OLV was applied during surgeries.Additionally,ulinastatin was given to experimental group.Serum levels of IL-6,IL-10 and TNF-alpha were observed at different time after OLV by ELSIA.The expression of AQP-4 was observed by immunohistochemistry.Results Serum levels of IL-6,IL-10 and TNF-alpha increased significantly in all patients after OLV was applied(P ＜0.05).The levels of IL-6 and TNF-alpha increased more significantly in experimental group than control group at all time points.The expression of AQP-4 increased significantly in experimental group than control group(t =10.29,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Conclusion Ulinastatin shows protective effects on lung injury during pulmonary surgeries,mainly via attenuating inflammation reactions and expression of AQP-4.
