Abstract:
Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is important in pathogenesis of allergic asthma reaction. Thus, inhibiting the combination of IgE and receptors in the membrane of mastocytes and other effective cells is able to reduce the body responses with allergens and decrease symptoms of asthma attacks. Monoclonal antibodies (Omalizumab) are effective in inhibiting the combination of IgE and receptors. The use of monoclonal antibodies in asthma treatment opened a new strategy, and confirmed the important roles of immunoglobulins in pathogenesis of asthma
