A study of post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and its drug intervention among middle age acute leukemia patients

Abstract: Objective To investigate and understand the characteristics and drug intervention of post-traumatic stress symptoms(PTSD) among middle age acute leukemia patients.Methods The Essen Trauma-Inventory (ETI) was administrated to 100 middle age acute leukemia patients who were admitted in our department and study the PSTD symptoms.Results The positive rate of PTSD is 21.21％ in sample of the patients.Total PTSD symptoms scores were (18.10 ± 9.42),there is no significant different between the 3 main PTSD symptoms in these patients(P ＞ 0.05).Type of leukemia,sexuality,levels of education and marital status are influencing factors of PSTD symptoms,there is significant different between the subgroups (P ＜0.01).Drug intervention can significantly relieve PTSD symptoms in these patients (Z =13.56,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions Middle age acute leukemia patients are generally found PTSD symptoms and with a high incidence rate of PTSD,so it needs timely diagnosis and treatment.
