Expression of serum TNF-α,IL-6 and MMP-9 in patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and its significance

Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of the serum tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),interleukin 6(IL-6)and matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9)in the pathogenesis of hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy(HDCP).Methods The serum levels of TNF-α,IL-6 and MMP-9 in 50 patients with HDCP and 20 normal pregnant women were detected by ELISA.Results The serum levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in HDCP group were higher than the control group(t=4.16,4.38,all P＜0.05).The serum level of MMP-9 in HDCP group was lower than the control group(t=3.89,P＜0.05).Negative correlation was observed between TNF-α,IL-6 and MMP-9 in HDCP group(r=-0.372,-0.328,all P＜0.05).Conclusion The serum levels of TNF-α and IL-6 increased significantly,while the serum level of MMP-9 decreased.TNF-α,IL-6 and MMP-9 may play important roles in pathogenesis and development of HDCP.
