Abstract:
Subjects: patients with cataract indicated surgical treatments at the Semi-official Department, Central Eye Hospital from August 2003 to June 2004. 46 patients (13 male, 33 female, aged from 33 to 83) with 46 cataract eyes have been operated by phacoemulsification techniques and fodable implantation. Results: 42 operated eyes (91.3%) have vision acuity ≥5/10. The pre- and post-operative complications were rare and mild, and could be managed by topical drugs. There was 1 eye with capsule contraction syndrome 3 months after operation and 2 eyes with posterior capsule opacification 6 months after operation. Phacoemulsification techniques and foldable implantation is safe and efficacy for the treatment of cataract.
