Analysis of therapeutic effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment in the elderly patients with vertebrobasilar insufficiency

Abstract: Objective To observe the curative effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment in the elderly patients with vertebrobasilar insufficiency.Methods Totally 120 elderly patients with vertebrobasilar insufficiency were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group and control group(n=60,each).All the patients received Vinpocetine injection by intravenous drip,besides,the patients in treatment group received compound recipe Xueshuantong capsule.Results The total effective rate in treatment group was 95.0％,which was significantly higher than that in control group(78.3％)(P＜0.05).The plasm viscosity [(1.2±0.2) vs.(1.6±0.2) mPa/s]and fibrinogen [(3.1±0.6)vs.(4.4±0.5)g/L]were decreased after compound xueshuantong capsule treatment as compared with control group (P ＜ 0.05 ) Conclusions Combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has definite therapeutic effect on the old patients with vertebrobasilar insufficiency and can be utilized widely.
