Effect of institutionalized humanistic care on relieving patients' anxiety in respiratory department

Abstract: ObjectiveTo explore the effect of institutionalized humanistic care on relieving patients' anxiety.MethodsTotally 424 patients with anxiety in respiratory department were randomly divided into experiment group ( n=198 ) and control group ( n=226 ).The institutionalized humanistic care was used in experiment group accompanied by normal holistic nursing while only holistic nursing was used in the control group.The anxiety status of patients was evaluated by using the hamilton anxiety scale ( HAMA ) from admission to discharge.The relief of anxiety was compared in two groups.Results①The seores of two groups were decreased because of the intervention ( P ＜0.01 ).②The scores of anxiety in experiment group was lower than that in control group at discharge ( P ＜0.01 ).ConclusionThe anxious emotion of patients was relieved after the intervention in the hospital,however,institutionalized humanistic care is more effective in relieving anxiety in patients.
