Abstract:
There is poor agreement on definitions of different phenotypes of preschool wheezing disorders. The latest study found that frequent wheezing was associated with humid living environment, nutritional status (including vitamin D intake during pregnancy and serum vitamin A levels) and gene cellular level. Based on the limited evidence available, inhaled short-acting β2-agonists are recommended for symptomatic relief. Maintenance treatment with inhaled corticosteroids is recommended for multiple-trigger wheeze. Montelukast is recommended for the treatment of episodic (viral) wheeze.
