Abstract:
Objective To study the features of carotid intinal medial thickness in the pre-hypertensive people. Methods Subjects were divided into three groups according to blood-pressure status using the JNC-7 criteria.We measured the carotid intinal medial thickness in carotid artery,the bifurcationg of internal and external carotid artery by means of echocardiography in 75 normotension(NTN) people,74 pre-hypertension(PHT) people and 77 hypertension(HIN) patients. Results IMT of pre-hypertension and hypertension was higher than normotension (P ＜0. 05). Conclusion PHT people had subclinical disease of carotid intinal medial thickening.
