The curative effect of Betaloc combined with antisterone in treating heart failure due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo observe the curative effect of Betaloc combined with Antisterone in treating heart failure due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. MethodsSixty patients with heart failure due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy were randomly divided into Betaloc group (Group A, n=30)-which was given Betaloc 6.25mg,b. i. d., no adverse reactions were observed, and the dosage was weekly increased until it reached 50mg, b. i. d. -and group of Betaloc combined with Antisterone (Group B, n = 30). The dosage of and ways to administer Betaloc for Group B was the same as that of Group A,while Antisterone 10mg,t. i.d. was combined in use,and no adverse reaction was found one week later; then the dosage of Antisterone was increased to 20mg, t. i. d. The course of treatment for both groups was 6 months. The curative effect and the changes of heart rate, blood pressure and LVEF were observed before and after the treatment. ResultsFor Group A, effectual 23.3 %, effective 66.7%, ineffective 10.0%. For Group B, effectual 33.3%, effective 63.4%. Compared with Group A, the curative effect of Group B was better (P < 0.05). ConclusionBetaloc combined with Antisrterone was more effective than the sole use of Betaloc in treating heart failure due to hypertro phic cardiomyopathy.
