Abstract:
The organic silver coordination cluster compound, silver phenylacetylide, was successfully analyzed by matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALD TOF MS). Results of linear and reflectron mass spectrometer were compared and the contributions of 107Ag and 109Ag isotopes were illustrated. Since the natural abundance of 107Ag is very close to 109Ag, the relative intensity of [nM+Ag]+ mass peaks is comparable to the binomial expansion (A+B)n, where n is the number of Ag atoms. The degree of polymerization of silver phenylacetyle was determined.
