Abstract:
Biological material refers to a class of materials with special properties, special features, for artificial organs, surgical repair, physical therapy rehabilitation, diagnosis, treatment, disorders, with no adverse effect on human tissues. Biological materials have been widely used in treating female pelvic reconstruction, including total pelvic reconstruction, anterior and posterior vaginal wall repair and vagina fornix sacral suspension. It is simple and effective. The reconstruction materials include autologous, allograft, xenograft and synthesized mesh. This article explored the clinical application of biological materials in female pelvic reconstruction, evaluated the biocompatibility of mesh and host. Common complications of patch include corrosion and extrusion. Of various synthesis meshes, type I macroporous polypropylene mesh has been recognized with lower infection, less complication and better biocompatibility.
