Abstract:
Objective To develop a medicated trachea cannnla pad which can keep the skin around incision of trachea desiccant, prevent and treat infection of incisional wound effectively. Methods Ac-cording to the manufacture and feature of 3L paste dressing,high-grade wadding,cloth,abeorbent cotton anddrug were made into medicated trachea eannnla pad and used in clinic. 72 conscious patients underwenttracheotomy were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group (36 cases in eachgroup). The disposable medicated trachea cannula pad was used in the observation group. In the controlgroup, sheared asepsis gauze was used only. Bacterial culture from the incision of trachea region and localincision was inspected on the third day,the sixth day and the tenth day after tracheotomy.Furthermore thesatisfaction degree of patients was also compared. Results The positive rate of bacterial culture in theobservation group was significantly lower than that in the control group; the local infection in the observa-tion group was significantly reduced than that in the control group; compared with the control group, thesatisfaction degree in the observation group was also more high (P < 0.01). Conclusions The methodprotecting the incision of trachea with the disposable medicated trachea cannnla pad can be operated easily.It not only can keep the skin around incision of trachea desiccant, improve patients" comfort, but also canprotect and treat infection of incisional wound effectively, reduce infection, promote rehabilitation, decreaselength of hospital stay and expense. So it deserves to be generalized in clinic.
