Clinical analysis of docetaxel and oxaliplatin chemotherapy in 87 patients with advanced gastric cancer

Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the effect and toxicity of docetaxel combined with oxaliplatin,leucovorin and 5-fluorouracil regimen for patients with advanced gastric cancer,and compare with non-docetaxel chemotherapy regimen.Methods 130 patients with advanced gastric cancer were randomly divided into treatment group 87 patients and control group 43 patients.The regimen of the treatment groups was docetoxel 50mg/m2,iv infusion from day 1 to 3 ;oxaliplatin 65mg/m2,iv infusion on day 1 ;leucovofin 300mg/m2,iv infusion for 2 hours followed by 5-fluorouracil 500mg/m2,iv infusion from day 1 to 5.The regimen of the control group was oxaliplatin 130mg/m2,iv infusion on day 1.The usage of leucovorin and 5-fluorouracil were similar to the treatment group.All patients were evaluated after 2cycles( every cycle lasted 3 weeks).Results The effective rate in treatment group and in control group had statistical significance(P < 0.05).The main to:deities were no statistical difference in two groups( P > 0.05).Conclusion Docetoxel combined with oxaliplatin,leueovorin and 5-fluorouracil regimen is safe,high response and well tolerable for advanced gastric cancer.
