Effect and nursing of drainage through central venous catheter in the treatment of obstinate ascite

Abstract:
Objective To discuss nursing measures for drainage through central venous catheter for treatment of patients with end-stage liver cirrhosis and obstinate ascite of liver cancer. Methods A total of 76 patients with end-stage liver cirrhosis and obstinate ascite of liver cancer were divided into the ob-servation group(40 cases)and the control group(36 cases).The observation group was given drainge of ob-stinate ascite through central venous catheter as well as nursing observation and records based upon routine treatment,which was adopted by the control group.The treatment effect was compared between the two groups. Results The effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that of the con-trol group while the incidence rate.of complication was lower,P < 0.05. Conclusions Utilization of drainge of obstinate ascite through central venous catheter has advantages of little trauma and pain,preven-tion of infection by repeated operation,desirable effect and low medical cost. Circumspect preoperative preparation and postoperative nursing ensured the success of treatment.
