Research about dietary intervention for constipation of patients with lung cancer when cured by chemotherapy

Abstract: Objective To know the effects of dietary intervention for constipation of patients with lung cancer when cured by chemotherapy. Methods Divided 62 patietns with lung cancer who had post-chemotherapy constipation and had accepeted 2-course of chemotherapy into the control group and the in-tervention group randomly, there were 31 cases in the each group. Dietary intervention was used in the in-tervention group, while routine nursing cares was used in the control group according to patients owns habits. Compared the incidence condition of constipation between the two groups. Results The incidence rate in the intervention group was 19.4%, which had significant lower than the 87.1% in the control group. Conclusions Dietary intervention can effective prevent or release the constipation for patients with lung cancer when cured by chemotherapy.
