Abstract:
Guanylyl cyelase-C (GC-C) is recently reported as the intestinal specific polypeptide receptor, which is expressed selectively by cells from intestinal mucosa, including normal intestinal cells, primary and metastatic colorectal cancer cells.Stimulated by heat-stable enterotoxin (STa),guanylin and uroguanylin,GC-C could not only regulate the proliferation and differentiation of intestinal cells, but also inhibit the proliferation of colorectal cancer cells and DNA synthesis.Micrometastases of the colorectal cancer can be found in lymph nodes, peripheral blood and liver lobes by GC-C detection. We can also perform GC-C and ligands for targeted prevention and therapy of colorectal cancer.GCC play important roles in detecting occult micrometastasos of colorectal cancer and targeted therapy.
