Abstract:
Promoter CpG hymethylation is a major epigenetic mechanism to inactivate the functions of tumor suppressor genes(TSG),in addition to genetic mechanism(point mutation and deletion). The hymethylation in some genes is strongly associated with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).TSG methylation status examination is clinically significant, and could serve as a new technique for the early diagnosis of cancer, while reversing the methylation of TSG is a promising idea for cancer therapy.
