The reliability and validity of the Chinese version of driver stress inventory (DSI)

Abstract: Objective To explore the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of driver stress inventory (DSI). Methods Three hundred drivers were investigated with DSI. The structure validity,content validity and internal reliability were examined. Results (1)Except items 9,16 and 18, the others had good discrimination. (2) Six factors were extracted which could explained 45.277% of the total variance. The six factors were significantly correlated with DSI total score(r = 0.241～0.622, P<0.01). (3)The spilt-half reliability was 0.557, The six factors ' Cronbach alphas were 0. 569, 0. 631, 0. 799, 0. 675, 0. 587 and 0. 685 respectively. ConclusionDSI has good reliability and validity, and is an effective instrument to test drivers' stress.
