Abstract:
A survey was conducted aim to investigate the incidence and epidemiological distribution by gender, occupation and worker grade and injury classification by severity and place. Participants were 17,535 workers who were working at coalmines Cao S¬n, Cäc S¸u, §Ìo Nai, M«ng D¬ng, Thèng NhÊt, Khe Chµm, and labor safety staffs and health workers at above coal-mines. Results: the common severe injuries included breakage and amputation in fingers and hands. These injuries affected greatly to occupational function of victims. The major causes of injury are self-fall, coal and stone fall. They can be prevented or limited if the labour protective devices are used properly and appropriately as well as if the workers received good training in safety skills and methods.
