Abstract:
Objective To explore clinical significance of controlled mechanical ventilation under general anesthesia with blood gas analysis. Methods 90 adult patients who received operation under general anesthesia were ysis was made 30 min after anesthesia and per hour thereafter. The patients whose first arterial blood gas values were abnormal were made another blood gas analysis 25 min after adjusting their respiratory parameters. Results The fist blood gas analysis values of the patients showed that the average PaCO2 value was ( 33.6 ± 12.9 ) mm Hg, only 40. 0% were normal; The average pH value was(7.40 ±0.05) ,66.7% were normal. Ventilation parameters of 36 cases whose first PaCO2 were abnormal were adjusted according to their first PaCO2. The average PaCO2 value of the second blood gas analysis was ( 37. 1 ± 4.6) mm Hg,90. 0% were normal and higher than the first ( P < 0. 05 ). The average pH value was (7.38 ± 0. 02 ),91.1% were normal and it was higher than the first( P < 0. 05). Conclusion It was important for arterial blood gas analysis to direct controlled respiration under general anesthesia.
