Clinical study on hydrochloride minocycline ointment in the treatment of chronic periodontitis

Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of hydrochloride minocycline ointment in the treatment of chronic periodontitis. Methods 40 patients( 100 teeth) with chronic periodontitis were divided into iodine glycerin group (control group)and hydrochloride minocycline ointment group (observation group). Before and after treatment, the changes of the periodontal depth, plaque index, tooth mobility, tooth week attachment level, gingival sulcus bleeding index were recorded and analyzed. Results There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05 ), and after treatment, the difference in every excerpt -time was significant (all P <0.05). Conclusion The treatment of hydrochloride minocycline ointment in chronic periodontitis was better than iodine glycerin, and could significantly improve the efficacy.
