Abstract:
Phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors are the most classic first-line medicine for male erectile dysfunction. Recent researches have demonstrated that PDE5 inhibitors can also be employed in the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms, renal ischemia/reperfusion injury and testicular torsion. This article updates the application of PDE5 inhibitors in these fields and their relevant mechanisms.
