Assessment by ultrasonography and scintigraphy in the reduction of thyroid volume in Basedow patients treated with I-131

Abstract:
The authors used ultrasonic machine with 7.5 MHz probe and scintigraphic scanner to evaluate the reduction of thyroid volume in Basedow patients treating with I-131 (average dose: 6,3 (1.14mCi). The results are as follow: After treatment 2-16 months, thyroid volume was reduced 67.7% (measurement by ultrasonography) and 72.5% (measurement by scintigraphy), comparing with this before treatment.
