Abstract:
A study on 503 pediatric patients with ages of 0-15, and empyema in the Institute of Pediatry during 1990-1999 has shown that the empyema occurred mainly in children with age of under 2 years - the major causative bacterial were S.aureus; negative gram bacterial accounted for 25%. The S.aureus resisted to the common antibiotics and sensitize to aminozides, glycopeptides and beta latamine; the negative gram bacterials resisted to the common antibiotic and sensitize to cefoperazone, ceftazidime, aminozides and quinolones
