Abstract: Acute myeloid leukemia is most common in the elderly patients, and the most elderly patients are thought to be unfit for intensive treatment because of the risk of fatal toxicity, and required other therapeutic approaches to optimize clinical outcome for them. Domestic and foreign scholars have carried out a lot of new drugs and treatment programs. This review focuses on the advances of therapy for elderly acute myeloid leukemia, including biological characteristics of elder AML, adoptive immunotherapy, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and so on.
