Abstract:
Cardiac myxoma accounts for about 1/4 of cardiac tumors. This is a type of benign tumor. Myxomas have peduncle with smooth and soft surface. The tumors contain glue and sticky substance and have a form of 1 to 1.5-cm diameter grey mass. The myxoma in left atrial can occlude the mitral valve or pulmonary vein valve, lead to stagnation of right cardiac circulation and of peripheral circulation. In old people who have risk factors such as diabetes, obese, hypertension or dyslipidemia, the stagnation of peripheral circulation can cause peripheral vein thrombosis.
