Forty-two cases of malaria treated with ginger-partitioned moxibustion in the Republic of Congo.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical efficacy of ginger-partitioned moxibustion on malaria in Congo.
METHODSGinger-partitioned moxibustion was applied mainly to Dazhui (GV 14) and Mingmen (GV 4). For malaria of common type, Taodao (GV 13) was added in moxibustion. For gastrointestinal type, Pishu (BL 20) was added in moxibustion. For pain type, cupping on local Ashi points was combined. For common cold type, moving cupping on Bladder Meridian was combined. Moxibustion was applied once every 3 days and 5 treatments made one session.
RESULTSThirty-one cases were cured, 8 cases improved and 3 cases failed. The effective rate was 92. 9%.
CONCLUSIONGinger-partitioned moxibustion has significant efficacy on malaria in Congo.
